What is a Psychological Thriller?

The difference between a horror film and a thriller is that a horror is repulsive and full of gore whilst a thriller will hold your interest in suspense.

The definition of a psychological thriller is a thrilling narrative which emphasizes the unstable psychological states of its characters. Psychological thriller conventions often overlap with conventions of mystery, drama, action and horror.


I have mad a mind-map exploring the different paradigms within a thriller genre. It includes costumes, lighting and props.
