Film Poster Remake (Love Letter)

Original

The title - Love Letter, is the biggest font on the poster so the audience knows it's the title. The title is written in red which has connotations of love and romance. This suggests to the audience that the film will be a romantic film.

Red capital letters, in Trajan font, contrast against the pale tropical background. The text has been edited so that it has a drop shadow and highlights. This makes the text stand out even more against a pale background.

The main colour scheme of the poster is red and white which is a common colour scheme for the rom-com or romance genre. Pale colours connote a light-hearted mood under the red passion. These colours are used to match the mood of the film. Red also has connotations of danger which could be a subtle hint to what the film is about.

An image of a tropical island I used in the background which suggests the setting of the film. The main characters in the film are cut out and placed over the top of the background. The female character isn't posing, unlike the man who is looking at the audience. This suggests the male is the lead character and more famous.

A tagline can be found under the title which gives the audience some insight into what the film will include.

A review from a film magazine has been used for the poster to tell the audience how good it is and if it is worth watching.

Star power is used to gain an audience. The names of the main characters are written underneath their images in the same font as the title.
